Torrent wins 124 MW order from Maharashtra utility under reverse e-auction process
AHMEDABAD: Torrent Power Ltd has said the company has won a 124.4 megawatt (MW) order from a Maharashtra power utility through an e-Reverse Auction process held on Tuesday. The company had participated in the competitive bidding and the e-Reverse Auction process held by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) on March 6 for procurement of power from grid-connected wind power projects.
“The company won a 124.40 MW project.. The project shall be commissioned within 18 months from the date of execution of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), as specified by MSEDCL,” TPL said in a statement here.
Torrent forayed into the renewable energy space with a 50 MW wind power plant in 2012. So far the company has implemented wind and solar power projects aggregating to 436 MW. Besides these operational projects, around 987 MW of renewable power projects are under construction/ development.
With this, its aggregate capacity of operational as well as under-construction /development renewable power projects stands at about 1,550 MW and its total operational and under-construction /development generation capacity has crossed 4,698 MW.
