TUSCO Ltd & UPNEDA sign advisory mandate with IFC – EQ Mag Pro
TUSCO Limited, a joint venture company of THDC India Limited (THDCIL) and Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) signed an advisory mandate on Monday with International Finance Corporation (IFC).
IFC is a member of the World Bank Group and will support TUSCO Limited in the development of 600 MW solar power parks in Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh on Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The advisory agreement was signed by THDCIL chairman and managing director, and TUSCO Limited chairman Rajeev Vishnoi, and Wendy Jo Werner, Country Manager, IFC India. The advisory mandate was signed in the presence of J Behera, Director(Finance), THDCIL, Bhawani Singh Khangarot, Director (UPNEDA) and Shailendra Singh, CEO of TUSCO Limited.
According to the officials, the solar parks will be set up under the Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park (UMREPP) Scheme of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India. The development of these solar parks will contribute towards Government of India’s clean energy programme to achieve 450 GW of renewable energy by 2030.
Today, THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1587 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) in Uttarakhand, Wind Power Projects of 50MW at Patan & 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat, 24MW Dhukwan Small Hydro Project, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh and 50 MW Solar Power Project at Kasaragod, Kerala to its credit.
