TUV Rheinland partners with National Institute of Solar Energy(NISE) to conduct ‘Suryamitras’ training program
TÜV Rheinland India, a subsidiary of TÜV Rheinland Group, Germany, a worldwide leader in Testing, Training, Inspection, Consulting & Certification, announced that it has partnered with National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), an autonomous body under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), to conduct ‘Suryamitras’ training program PAN India. The ‘Suryamitras’ training program will provide Industry ready skilled technicians for installation, commissioning, Operation and maintenance in the field of Solar Technology.The main objective of this program is to train the 10+2passed, ITI/Diploma holders as field technicians to execute National Solar Mission(NSM) programs across the country.
The Academy and Life care division of TUV Rheinland Indiatrains over 9000 students per annum in different trades Pan India, has 1.2 lakh square feet of labs and 200, 000 square feet of training facilities. This division would be responsible for setting up these ‘Suryamitras’ centres across India and steps have already been initiated to establish 35 centres in the current year and train around 5000 students. “We are extremely pleased that NISE has chosen TUV Rheinland as one of the 3 agencies in India to conduct the ‘Suryamitras’ training program”, said Thomas Fuhrmann, Managing Director, TUV Rheinland India. “This is a result of our rich expertise and experience in operating such vocational training centres across India. We own more than 80 TUV Rheinland NIFE academy centres and run Cairn Centre of Excellence (CCOE) in partnership with Cairn India which has been awarded as the best Centre of vocational training in Rajasthan.”
“TUV Rheinland India has partnered with several Govt. agencies to offer best of skill education in India. Some of the major Government agencies with whom we have partnered include MNRE, Skill council for green jobs, Rajasthan Skills and Livelihood Development Corporation, Dept. of tribal area development etc. The partnership on the ‘Suryamitras’ program with NISE is yet another initiative by us to further our commitment to ‘Skilling India’,the dream project of the Honourable Prime Minister of India for creating job opportunities for the unemployed youth in various sectors throughout the country.”added Thomas Fuhrmann. The duration of the ‘Suryamitras’ program is 600 hours (approx. 90 days). This is a residential program and it is free for all the students which include boarding and lodging as well.
The essential qualification for the candidate to be eligible for this program include 10th pass plus ITI in electrician/ wireman/ electronics mechanic/ fitter/ sheet metal with minimum 18 years of age. During the selection of the trainees’ special emphasis is given to students coming from rural background, unemployed youth, women, and SC / ST candidates. After successful completion of the course,at the end of the program, the trainees will acquire knowledge about basics of electricity, operate and maintain solar set up, plan and install solar photovoltaic electrical system, testing and commissioning of solar plant, check all equipment’s and parts with safety. Students are systematically assessed and certificates are awarded at the end of the course. The successful candidates are offered placement assistance to get jobs in solar projects in and outside India. The Suryamitras program also encourages trainees to become entrepreneurs in solar energy sector.
