UDF protest: Inauguration of Kochi Metro’s solar energy project postponed
Kochi: The inauguration of Kochi Metro’s solar energy project has been postponed as UDF workers protested for not inviting Aluva MLA Anwar Sadath to the function. It was earlier informed the Chief Minister will inaugurate the Kochi Metro’s solar energy project at the Aluva station. However, widespread protests erupted for not inviting Aluva MLA Anwar Sadath to the function. At this juncture, the Chief Minister asked the authorities to postpone the function.
KMRL MD Elias George said that the authorities had not thought about conducting a public function and only a switch-on function was intended. “Hence, nobody was invited to the switch-on. As the incident has erupted into a controversy, the inauguration will be conducted as a function,” Elias George said.
