Renewable Connections’ projects include 25MW Strathruddie solar farm and 20MW battery development in Fife, Scotland

Renewable Connections has secured planning consents for 166MW of solar and storage capacity in the UK.

The most recent consent is for the 25MW Strathruddie solar farm and 20MW battery storage development in Fife, Scotland, which was approved unanimously at committee on 16 March.

The 49.9MW solar farm and 20.5MW independent battery storage development, Vicarage Drove Energy Centre in North West Bicker, Lincolnshire, was approved by Boston Borough Council under delegated powers on 17 February.

The 50MW/100MWh Indian Queens grid-scale battery storage facility in Cornwall, a joint application between Renewable Connections and Pivot Power, part of EDF Renewables, was approved under delegated powers by Cornwall Council on 2 February.

Renewable Connections development director John Leith said: “To have three renewable energy projects consented in such quick succession is a huge achievement, especially for our team and consultants who have worked tirelessly on these projects.

“We are also delighted to have achieved our first ever consent in Scotland, alongside the innovative co-location projects at Vicarage Drove and Strathruddie.”

All three projects have been developed in partnership with European Energy.
