U’khand holds road show in Bengaluru to attract investment ahead of Oct summit
Dehradun: The industry department of Uttarakhand government on Wednesday held its first road show in Bengaluru to attract investment ahead of the ‘Destination Uttarakhand: Investors Summit’ scheduled to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narandra Modi on October 6.
Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, along with senior government officials, addressed key industrialists of Karnataka and dwelt on the investment opportunities in Uttarakhand and sought active participation for the maiden investor’s summit.
The Uttarakhand government, delegation highlighted the 12 focus sectors of the state, which include Food Processing, horticulture & floriculture, herbal & aromatic, tourism & hospitality, wellness & AYUSH, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, natural fibers, IT, renewable energy, biotechnology, film shooting etc.
Addressing the gathering, CM Rawat, said, “We are pleased to organize this roadshow with a focus on these 12 sectors, in the run-up to the Investors Summit. Uttarakhand is full of natural beauty and bio-diversity. We will increase rail and air connectivity with the rest of the country and soon will have a railway route that will take only 3.5 hours to travel from Delhi to Dehradun.”
Manisha Panwar, principal secretary of industries, said, “Uttarakhand has a vast investment potential with tremendous opportunities for commerce. Our vision is to establish the state as a business destination that is sustainable by adopting policies best suited for steady operations.”
