UN Secy General to visit India from Oct 1 to 4

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and a 6 member delegation will visit India from October 1 to 4 at the invitation of the External Affairs Minister. He will be here for the Mahatma Gandhi International Sanitation Convention on October 2 in Delhi.
The event begins Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations and the 4th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
He will also attend functions related to the International solar alliance, and call on the President and Prime Minister. Guterres will hold delegation level talks with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Multilateral, regional issues and India’s growing engagement with the United Nations are expected to be on the agenda.
