UT commited for solar city target

Chandigarh: The UT administration is fully committed to develop Chandigarh as a model solar city and has set the target to install 69 MW rooftop solar power plant by 2022, said Debendra Dalai, director, Department of Science & Technology, while addressing an awareness camp here on Monday.
He emphasized that renewable energy is the need of the hour and as CREST is executing rooftop solar SPV programme in Chandigarh and has already installed 26.069 MW SPV power plants on rooftops of government institutions, buildings and private sector up to December 31, 2018.
