Vedanta Aluminium says ramping up production for renewable energy, battery technology – EQ Mag

Vedanta Aluminium announced that it is increasing production at its aluminum smelters in Jharsuguda, Odisha, and Korba, Chhattisgarh, to add new product lines and that it is diversifying its product mix to meet the needs of emerging industries such as high-tech manufacturing, electric vehicles, green buildings, renewable energy, and battery technologies.
The company, a subsidiary of Vedanta Limited, produced more than half of India’s 2.29 million tonnes of aluminum in FY23. It is a significant participant in the value-added aluminum products market, finding essential applications in core sectors.
“The world seeks to transition to a low-carbon future that will undoubtedly be metal intensive. With its distinctive qualities, aluminum has become the preferred metal for a wide range of high-end technical applications, according to Rahul Sharma, CEO of Vedanta Limited Aluminium Business. The company stated that it is dedicated to supplying the growing demand for aluminum through its locally developed goods for the engineering and technological sectors.
