Vena Energy, Asia-Pacific’s leading renewable energy company, announced today that the 25 MW “Shichinohe 9” Solar Project has achieved commercial operation. The Project can satisfy the electricity consumption of up to 5,681 local households with clean energy yearly, and compared to thermal energy generation, the Shichinohe 9 Solar Project is capable of reducing approximately 15,214 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions, while simultaneously saving 21 million litres of water annually.

Spanning 47.5 hectares with 50,625 bifacial photovoltaic solar panels, the project engaged around 110 workers at the peak of its construction.

“The Shichinohe 9 Solar Project is our 12th renewable energy project in Aomori Prefecture, and the successful completion of this project is a testament to our ongoing engagement and partnership with the host communities of Aomori Prefecture,” said Juan Mas Valor, Head of Vena Energy Japan. “We look forward to contributing positively to the environment, and also to our host communities through the creation of job opportunities and supporting the local economy.”
