Villages in Mrauk-U to go solar
Under the National Electrification Project-NEP, solar panels were installed in five villages, 283 households, three Basic Education Primary Schools, two BEMS, four religious buildings and lamp posts in Mrauk-U, Rakhine State in 2017-2018 fiscal year.
The installed solar panels were given one-year warranty and the damage during one year can be repaired at the Service Centre opened at the Township Department of Rural Development.
This 2018-2019 FY, a total of 14 villages will go solar and public contribution has been collected as a first time. To collect the second public contribution is being undertaken. Solar panels will be installed in 1108 households, five BEPS, 7 BEMS, two BEHS, two health care buildings, 15 religious buildings and 147 lamp posts, according to U Tun Yan Naign Thu, Assistant Director from Department of Rural Development.
