Waaree Energies bags contract for 60 Mw solar power project in Vietnam
The company said the project will mark a step towards achieving the 12 GW of solar PV target set by the Vietnam government
New Delhi: Solar Photo Voltaic (PV) module manufacturer Waaree Energies today announced it has bagged a contract for a 60 Megawatt (Mw) ground-mounted solar power project in Vietnam.
The company said in a statement the project, to be set up in association with a utility scale provider, will mark a step towards achieving the 12 Gigawatt (GW) of solar PV target set by the Vietnam government. Waaree has also set up a project office in Vietnam for executing the contract.
“With the Turnkey Engineering, Procurement and Construction contract, along with Operations and Maintenance, the project also marks Waaree Energies’ expansion to South East Asia. Waaree Energies will be using its mono-crystalline panels for this project,” the company said.
The project is being developed in Khanh Hoa province and has been approved by Vietnam Electricity, that nation’s largest power company, for 60 Mw capacity. When commissioned, it is expected to generate 106,000 MWh of electricity per year.
Waaree Energies has a solar PV module manufacturing capacity of 1,500 Mw and is working on a pipeline of 100 Mw capacity projects to be executed over the next six months globally apart from 250 Mw projects being developed domestically.
