Water Park to install 500kW Solar Plant
he recently opened Wonderla in Hyderabad has become the first amusement park in the country to set up a solar plant with an installed capacity of 500KiloWatt (Kw).
The solar unit will be inaugurated on the 20th of September by Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Secretary, Communication Department, Government of Telangana.
“This move is seen as a firm step in Wonderla’s attempt to build environment – friendly parks in India,” the company said in a press release.
The installed power plant will generate 2000kWh daily and it is expected to carter to 25 per cent of Wonderla’s daily power requirement, the company statement added.
Wonderla Hyderabad’s daily power consumption reaches upto 10,000kWh per day.
Wonderla has also started “Wonderla Environment & Energy Conservation Awards” to be awarded to children to promote the idea of Sustainable Environment.
