Woman of the Year in Solar Industry award to Tanya Singhal by EQ International
One of India’s largest renewable energy publication house – EQ International, at their SuryaCon conference, acknowledged efforts of key industry professionals instrumental in shaping the India Solar Industry.
The Woman of the Year in Solar Industry award was given to Tanya Singhal, Founder and Director, SolarArise India Projects Private Ltd.
Tanya has been working to make solar an affordable reality in India for almost a decade now. Together with her founding partners, James Abraham and Anil Nayar, she started SolarArise, a unique Solar PV asset management firm that focuses on owning and operating solar projects. The Company is backed by marquee global investors – Kotak Mahindra managed infrastructure fund – CIIF, GEEREF (European Investment Bank – EIB’s fund) and ThomasLloyd Group. Tanya is an BTech engineer from IIT Delhi and was previously a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, BCG India.
Tanya Singhal commented: “It feels great when the industry acknowledges your efforts to build a sector. Over the past 10 years we have successfully transformed solar from a “CSR solution” to an “economically viable” must have solution. This is just the start, over 100 GW solar will be a reality very soon. And I hope more women will join to lead this journey.”
