On, 11th July, 2021, the Zhongnan Group, one of the largest conglomerate in China, had the ground breaking ceremony of a new solar production plant of annual manufacturing capacity of 5GW.
The group is main investor behind the well-known Solar Brand ReneSola and is known for selling the Solar PV Modules globally.
The ceremony was held in Hai’an Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu Province, China. Mr. Yu Lizhong—(the Secretary of Hai’an Municipal Party Committee), Mr. Chen Jinshi (Founder and Chairman, Zhongnan group), Mr. Zheng Lei (Chairman & President, Zhongnan Industry) & Mr. Sky Wang (CEO, Renesola Energy) along with others well-known dignitaries of the industry were present at the ceremony.
The company is planning to manufacturer its premium range of the Solar PV Modules in this new factory those will be sold under the premium brand “EVERSOLA” which was announced in Dec, 2020.
Mr. Chen Jinshi (Founder and Chairman, Zhongnan group), mentioned that the new 5GW plant will be focussing on commercialisation of the latest Solar PV technologies and will be Solar Flag bearer of the Group.
After this capacity addition, the total SPV manufacturing capacity will be 7GW which is representing the growth company has envisioned.
Mr. Sky Wang (CEO, Renesola) said: “ We are really excited to witness the realisation of the growth we projected two years back. The new plant will add an annual output value of more than 10 billion yuan.
The plant will mainly focus on the “210mm” cell based modules and fully compatible with the size below “210mm”, so as to take the existing products into account and also fill the supply gap of large-size products in the future.
Mr. Yu Lizhong (The Secretary, Hai’an Municipal Party Committee) mentioned in his address that that Zhongnan Group’s this 5GW PV plant will be of great significance for Hai’an Economic Development Zone and will be a local landmark pillar for the new energy and equipment manufacturing industry in the zone.
